Unico

Kinetic Installation – with FutureDeluxe for Hublot

A kinetic sculpture and immersive installation, commissioned to celebrate Hublot’s first ‘House’ movement, the Unico.

The sculpture features curved stainless steel pieces forming an 8-meter-tall mechanism. Concentric arcs move at different speeds, both clockwise and counterclockwise, to create a sense of relative time within the sculpture. A 270-degree curved LED screen surrounds the work, providing light that shifts and reflects to create another layer of changing time.

An ambient soundscape by Verraco was designed to sync with the sculpture’s motion, lighting, and video. At regular intervals, two films made by Future Deluxe for Hublot were shown on the LED screen, adding dramatic moments to the experience.

Design Development

The development process included pre-visualization for all design aspects, such as the installation's overall structure, component design, sculpture motion, lighting, and video.
